Historic Benicia Walking Tour on February 23, 2008

On Saturday, February 23, 2008, the Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP) hosted a historic walking tour of downtown Benicia, CA. This event provided the fifteen attending AEP members a chance to network and socialize while enjoying a taste of California history. The day kicked-off with a traditional tea service at the Camellia Tea Room, where attendees engaged in a brief meet and greet over an assortment of finger sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, sweets, and an individual pot of hot aromatic tea. After relaxing over tea, the group headed out on a guided walking tour provided by Jerry Hayes and Kerry Carney of the Benicia Historical Society, which highlighted important buildings (e.g., Saint Pauls Rectory and the Fischer-Hanlon House) and historical facts associated with Benicia and California. Overall, the event was an outstanding success! AEP would like to sincerely thank those members that participated and Jerry Hayes and Kerry Carney for volunteering their time for this fantastic outing.
