Janet Palma, AICP, is our new Treasurer starting in 2007.
She has been a member of AEP since 2000.
Janet is a Project Manager/Senior Environmental Planner with PMC in Oakland, where she prepares and manages environmental documents
and analyzes impacts pursuant to CEQA/NEPA guidelines, including EIRs, EIRs, MNDS, Initial Studies and
Environmental Assessments. She also manages staff planners and subconsultants, and interacts with clients.
Prior to PMC, Janet was sole proprietor of JM & Associates, an environmental consulting firm based in San Leandro.
She has a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from UC Berkeley.
She also obtained teaching credentials in English in Multiple Subject from UC Berkeley and earned a Certificate in
Horticulture from Merritt College in Oakland.
In 1996, she went on to graduate from University of San Francisco with a Master of Science degree in Environmental
Management.
In her spare time, Janet enjoys water sports – swimming, boating, scuba diving (warm water only now), and
occasionally biking.
She also likes photography, especially taking photos on vacations, local trips, and of course for projects.
She attends music events and enjoys other outdoor activities such as camping and light hiking – Yosemite being a
favorite spot.
Her most recent vacation was to Cabo San Lucas where swimming with the dolphins, a sunset cruise, and two boat
dives were among many highlights.
She was born and raised in New York City, attended high school in Los Angeles, and moved to the Bay Area in 1971.
