Environmental Sciences Section Manager, HDR, Walnut Creek or San Francisco

HDR is in search of an Environmental Sciences Section Manager for our growing Bay Area group. This position can be located in either the Walnut Creek or San Francisco office. The Environmental Sciences Section Manager will be administratively responsible for technical service functions and staff and will lead and coordinate services with other sections. The primary duties would include functioning as a senior project manager on projects and associated management responsibilities including: marketing, management and quality control of deliverables, profitability, and staff recruitment/development. Select, train, develop and manage technical personnel. Work with clients, resource agencies, environmental and technical staff to prepare State and federal (e.g. CEQA, NEPA) environmental documents and technical studies for large projects. Produce and/or perform review of all documents, reports, presentation, technical memorandums, and other work products with a focus on environmental regulatory compliance and technical adequacy. See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through a pro-active project management system. Assist in preparation of marketing plans, lead proposal efforts and interviews, and work cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in both the local and national marketing efforts.

Requirements: Bachelors degree in a related field. 10+ years management experience. Knowledge & experience managing environmental services for large, complex projects including CEQA and NEPA documentation, regulatory compliance (CWA, ESA, Section 106, DFG, etc.) and technical studies. Strong communication and technical writing skills. Ability to handle multiple assignments. Good leadership and organizational skills
