Terri McCracken


Terri has been an AEP member since 2004 and has served on the SF Bay Area Chapter Board since 2006. She has participated as the Membership Director, Vice President of Programs (North Bay), Legislative Committee Representative and 2009 State Conference Committee Member. Terri is currently our President and serves on the Student Scholarship Committee.

Terri has a BA in Environmental Planning from Sonoma State University and has worked in the environmental planning field as a Project Manager for environmental review documents pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). She has overseen the preparation of numerous CEQA/NEPA analyses for high-profile and environmentally sensitive projects in both urban, rural and coastal settings, and acts as a day-to-day contact for agency staff, subconsultants, and applicants, providing valuable insight to identify environmental constraints and feasible mitigation measures. Terri has prepared and assisted in the management of a variety of environmental review documents, including Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs), Initial Studies, Negative Declarations and Mitigated Negative Declarations (ND/MNDs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), Addenda, Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Programs (MMRPs), and other focused environmental analyses. Her diverse project experience includes commercial/retail, mixed-use, single- and multi-family residential, sports, entertainment, institutional, and master planned developments throughout Northern and Southern California. In addition, Terri is a Certified Green Building Professional and utilizes her experience and knowledge toward sustainable building projects.

Terri grew up exploring various outdoor opportunities throughout the United States and Europe, and naturally she has a strong sense of adventure. She spends her free time backpacking, cycling, skiing, surfing and other outdoor activities. She is committed to community service efforts that maintain safe outdoor environments and volunteers annually at events such as the Petaluma River Clean Up, California Coastal Clean Up and Rebuild Together Petaluma. Terri has also volunteered with the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity and supported the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a member of the Redwood Wine Country Cycling Team. In addition to being an active member of AEP, she is also a member of American Planning Association (APA), US Green Building Council (USGBC), Friends of the Inyo and Surfrider.
